MyTHS (Maryland Training in Historical Swordsmanship) was formerly known as the Harford County Historical Fencing Club (HCHFC) and has grown into the premier HEMA club serving Harford County, Cecil County, and the upper Chesapeake region.
At MyTHS, our mission is to revive and promote the art of historical European martial arts (HEMA) through personalized coaching, research, and community engagement. We are dedicated to fostering a respectful and inclusive environment where enthusiasts of all skill levels can explore the rich traditions of historical fencing. Our goal is to build a community that appreciates the historical significance and technical mastery of these martial arts while encouraging personal growth, physical fitness, and camaraderie among our members.
Who are we?
We offer lesson and sparring opportunities across a variety of weapon styles, including longsword, rapier, sword and buckler, and saber. Our lessons are rooted in historical manuals, ensuring that techniques are both authentic and effective.
